The world’s tallest apartment building is set to rise in Brazil, with sky-high prices to match. The Senna Tower, inspired by the life of Formula 1 racing legend Ayrton Senna, will soar more than 1,800 feet into the air in the upscale Brazilian beach resort of Balneário Camboriú. It will surpass New York City’s Central Park Tower as the world’s tallest apartment building.

Developers recently revealed pricing for the tower’s most exclusive residences, and the numbers are staggering. The 154-floor complex will top out with two triplex penthouses, each spanning 9,700 square feet and priced at a whopping $53 million. These new price tags are a dramatic leap from the original estimate of $15.92 million.

The triplexes will reportedly be sold by the British auction house Sotheby’s. Senna Tower will contain 228 units in total, including 204 apartments up to 4,300 square feet and 18 suspended ‘mansions,’ spanning 4,520 to 6,060 square feet. Even the tower’s tiniest residences will start around $5 million.

Four duplexes, each about 6,450 square feet, will also be on offer.

Senna Tower sets luxury benchmark

Ayrton Senna’s niece, artist Lalalli Senna, assisted in crafting the tower’s design.

She reportedly intended it to symbolize the motorsports icon’s journey of overcoming challenges. Senna, a three-time world racing champion widely thought of as one of the greatest drivers in history, achieved six Monaco Grand Prix victories but tragically died at the age of 34 during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. The project is a collaboration between the construction company FG Empreendimentos, the Senna family, and Brazilian retailer Havan.

The estimated investment totals more than $525 million, and construction is expected to be completed by 2033. Balneário Camboriú, located in the state of Santa Catarina, is known as the “Dubai of Brazil” due to the skyscrapers that dot its coastline. Senna Tower will surpass all other structures there in both height and price, adding another striking feature to the city’s already sizeable skyline.

While the forthcoming project will set its share of records, the world’s most expensive apartment is currently in Monaco. The penthouse in Monaco’s Odeon Tower sold for more than $335 million. This landmark development redefines luxury living in Brazil and sets new standards for opulence and architectural ambition worldwide.
