The Kinks will release “The Journey – Part 3” in July 2025. This is the final part of their 60th anniversary anthology series. Part 3 covers the years from 1977 to 1984.
During this time, The Kinks had major success with their albums in the USA. The album will have two discs. Disc one has 11 classic tracks from this era.
These songs have been remastered from the original tapes. Hits like “Come Dancing” and “Destroyer” are included. Disc two features live recordings from 1993.
The band played at the Royal Albert Hall in London that year. Dave Davies called it a “high point” for The Kinks. Songs like “You Really Got Me” and “Sunny Afternoon” are on this disc.
The collection will come out on CD, vinyl, and digital formats. The CD and vinyl have extra notes from the band. Music journalist Phil Alexander also wrote new liner notes.
