Kim Jung Hyun has spoken out about the controversy surrounding his past relationship with actress Seo Ye Ji. In a recent appearance on the KBS2 variety show “Heart on Wheels,” the actor opened up about the difficult emotions he experienced during that time. “Honestly, I don’t think I’ve been through anything that difficult.

There were no hardships. But at the time, I did feel wronged, deeply ashamed—there were definitely a lot of emotions,” Kim shared. The controversy began in 2021 when allegations surfaced that Seo Ye Ji had gaslighted Kim Jung Hyun during their relationship.

This reportedly led to his withdrawn behavior at a press conference for the drama “Time,” where he appeared expressionless and rejected his co-star Seohyun’s attempt to link arms during a photo session. However, Kim reflected on how he has moved past those challenges. “As time passed, I realized there was nothing truly difficult about it.

What remained was just a matter of life or death,” he said. “If I keep holding on to those difficult times, then things will always feel hard.

I’m not denying what happened, but by living as if nothing difficult ever happened, I find myself meeting better people and becoming healthier,” Kim added. The actor, known for his roles in dramas such as “Mr. Queen,” “Crash Landing on You,” and “Welcome to Waikiki,” signed with a new agency, Management Siseon, in May 2024.

He subsequently won Best Actor at the 2024 KBS Drama Awards for his performance in “Iron Family.”

During his acceptance speech, Kim apologized for his past actions. “Receiving this award and expressing gratitude is something I must do, but true gratitude cannot be achieved without reflecting on the past. I deeply apologize for my past actions that hurt many people and caused discomfort,” he said.
