Cleveland metal band Chimaira is bringing back their annual “Chimaira Christmas” concert after an 8-year hiatus. The show will take place on December 20th at The Agora Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio. Joining Chimaira for the festive event are fellow Ohio-based metal bands 200 Stab Wounds and Nunslaughter.

This lineup promises an intense and memorable night of heavy music for fans in their hometown. Chimaira, formed in 1998, has been a significant force in the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. The band released seven albums before initially disbanding in 2014 after numerous lineup changes.

Chimaira’s holiday concert revival

They reunited for a one-off show in 2017 and have since performed intermittently, mainly at festivals. The current lineup features original members and primary songwriters, vocalist Mark Hunter and guitarist Rob Arnold.

In recent years, Chimaira has appeared at several festivals, including the upcoming 2024 InkCarceration Festival in Mansfield, Ohio. The band’s last performance in Cleveland was in 2013, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed sophomore album, “The Impossibility of Reason.” The upcoming Christmas concert will revive a tradition Chimaira began in the early 2000s, with the December event being the first since a planned 2020 show was canceled due to the pandemic. Presale tickets for “The Return Of Chimaira Christmas” will be available on Wednesday, June 18th, with general ticket sales starting on Friday, June 20th.

Fans are eagerly anticipating this heavy metal holiday homecoming, excited to experience Chimaira’s powerful performances and celebrate the season in true metal fashion.
