The creepy clown returns in the latest teaser for “Hell House LLC: Lineage,” the fifth installment in the popular horror franchise. This film marks a departure from the series’ signature found footage style, opting for a traditional narrative format. “Hell House LLC: Lineage” follows Vanessa Shepard, a documentarian who was resurrected in the previous film, “Hell House LLC: Lake of Fire.” Haunted by visions and nightmares years after a near-death experience, Vanessa finds herself trapped in the town of Abaddon.
As mysterious deaths begin to occur around her, she uncovers a terrifying connection to the Abaddon Hotel, the Carmichael Manor, and a series of murders spanning decades.
The creepy clown’s chilling return
The film sees the return of several characters from earlier installments, including the Carmichael siblings from “Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor” and Elizabeth Vermilyea as Vanessa Shephard.
Director Stephen Cognetti explained the shift in format, stating, “For the story, scope, and scares I wanted to write in Lineage, found footage was going to be too restrictive to make the film I wanted to make. I set out to make a Hell House movie like you’ve never seen, and I promise you won’t be disappointed in the change of format.”
Cognetti has hinted that this fifth installment “will likely be the last but also the scariest” in the franchise. For those looking to catch up on the series, the first three films are available for free on Terror Films’ YouTube channel, “Shocks & Docs.”
“Hell House LLC: Lineage” will premiere in theaters on August 20, with tickets now available for pre-order.
