Colin Jost's dumpster search for Scarlett Johansson's engagement ring

Colin Jost, the comedian and “Saturday Night Live” star, recently shared a story about the lengths he went to find his wife Scarlett Johansson’s lost engagement ring. The ring, estimated to be worth around $400,000, was thought to have been accidentally thrown in the trash by Johansson. Determined to recover the precious item, Jost took it upon himself to search through 12 dumpsters in an effort to locate the missing ring.

Despite his exhaustive search, he was unable to find it. Upon returning home empty-handed, Jost was met with a surprise. Johansson had discovered the ring in her pocket the entire time.

Jost’s dedicated dumpster dive

“I went back to the house and she said, ‘Oops! It was in my pocket.’ It was a great day for me,” Jost humorously recalled on a recent episode of “Pop Culture Jeopardy!”

The couple, who became engaged in 2019 and tied the knot in October 2020, have been open about their relationship and the qualities they value in each other. Johansson has described Jost as a “very, very, very great guy” and expressed her gratitude for being married to someone who is kind, loving, and a great dad.

Jost’s dedication to finding the lost ring adds another memorable chapter to their love story. It showcases his commitment and the lengths he is willing to go for his wife. The couple shares a 3-year-old son, Cosmo, and Johansson also has a 10-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy, from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac.

They continue to support each other both personally and professionally, with Johansson making appearances on “Saturday Night Live” alongside her husband.
