Conner Floyd, known for his role as Chance on “The Young and the Restless,” is joining the cast of “Days of Our Lives” as the new Chad DiMera. He will replace Billy Flynn, who portrayed the character for several years. Flynn, who recently moved on to star in “The Young and the Restless” as Cane, congratulated Floyd on social media.

He tagged Floyd in a post featuring a screenshot of the news article and wrote, “Congrats @connergfloyd! Chad is in great hands. You’re gonna crush it, man.”

Floyd’s premiere as Chad DiMera on “Days of Our Lives” is set for June 25, 2025. His casting has sparked excitement among fans of both daytime dramas, as it symbolizes a fresh start for the character.

Floyd’s experience in daytime TV is notable, having portrayed Philip ‘Chance’ Chancellor IV on “The Young and the Restless” from 2021 to 2025.

During his four-year stint, he worked alongside industry veterans like Eric Braeden and Michelle Stafford.

Fans quickly noticed Floyd’s striking resemblance to Flynn, including similar physical features such as blue eyes, wavy brown hair, and close-cropped beards. This likeness should help viewers more easily accept Floyd in the role. In “The Young and the Restless,” Floyd’s character Chance was the son of a wealthy heir, similar to Chad DiMera, who is the son of the late multi-millionaire Stefano DiMera.

Both characters prefer a simpler life despite their wealthy backgrounds, showcasing Floyd’s ability to portray that balance. Floyd’s previous role as a heroic cop dedicated to solving crimes and protecting citizens demonstrates his ability to play admirable characters, making him well-suited for the role of Chad, who is portrayed as a good guy pursuing an honest living. The show’s executive producer Ken Corday expressed support for Flynn’s departure, stating, “We support Billy as an actor and friend, and wish him nothing but continued success and happiness, personally and professionally.”
