Eagles fan gets engaged during Super Bowl

A Philadelphia Eagles fan got the surprise of a lifetime when her boyfriend proposed during the team’s Super Bowl LIX victory celebration. Kara Zuczek and Peter Grant were watching the game at a local bar when Grant suddenly dropped to one knee. “One minute, I was talking about the game, the Taylor Swift engagement rumors, and whether Travis Kelce would propose if the Chiefs won,” Zuczek said.

“The next thing I knew, my boyfriend was down on one knee right there in the middle of it all!”

Zuczek, a Delaware County resident, said that while the Eagles’ win against the Kansas City Chiefs was fantastic, nothing will top her magical proposal. “Now, every Super Bowl will be more than just a football game for me, it’s the anniversary of the day I got the best surprise of my life,” she added.

The bride-to-be also joked about the rumored engagement between singer Taylor Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “And hey, if Taylor’s still waiting for her proposal, I guess I beat her to it!” she said.

Engagement rumors between Swift and Kelce have been swirling for a year, with many fans expecting Kelce to propose after potentially securing a third straight Lombardi Trophy for the Chiefs.

However, neither of those milestones happened on Sunday, exactly one week after Swift lost out on all six of her Grammy nominations. Despite the losses, Zuczek and Grant’s engagement proves that love can still win big on Super Bowl Sunday. The couple plans to celebrate their engagement alongside the Eagles’ victory parade in Philadelphia.
