Starz has released the first teaser for its upcoming series “Spartacus: House of Ashur,” a sequel to the popular “Spartacus” franchise. The new show explores an alternate history, posing the question: What if Ashur, played by Nick Tarabay, had survived the events of “Spartacus: Vengeance” and been given control of the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus? The teaser promises a return to the bloody battles and thrilling action that fans of the original series loved.

In the brief clip, Ashur appears ready to take on any challenger in the arena. As the camera focuses on his face, he utters a single word: “Begin.”

“Spartacus: House of Ashur” is described as an epic new saga that reimagines possibilities and turns of fate from the original series. The show will follow Ashur as he leads a new era of gladiators, with fresh characters joining the cast.

Spartacus sequel promises thrilling battles

Graham McTavish, known for his role in “Outlander,” will play Korris, Ashur’s Doctore, while Tenika Davis will portray Achillia, a fierce gladiatrix. Lucy Lawless, who starred in the original series, will reprise her role as Lucretia in the premiere episode.

Steven S. DeKnight, the creator and executive producer of the original “Spartacus” series, returns as the showrunner for “House of Ashur.” The series is produced by Lionsgate Television and is set to premiere on Starz in the fall.
