Gwyneth Paltrow has sold her Los Angeles home for $22 million. The actress and Goop founder offloaded the Brentwood property for $8 million less than its original asking price. The home first hit the market in June 2024 but saw a price reduction to $24.9 million.
It was eventually sold to an anonymous buyer for nearly $3 million less than the reduced price. Paltrow and her ex-husband, Chris Martin, purchased the 1950s single-story house in 2012 for $9.95 million. The estate underwent renovations in 2009 and boasts a large kitchen with a wood-burning oven, a one-bedroom guesthouse with a wine cellar, a gym, an office, a game room, and a private movie theater.
The six-bedroom, 11-bathroom home was listed for sale as Paltrow’s children, Apple, 20, and Moses, 18, were preparing to move out for college. Apple attends Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, while Moses is in Rhode Island.
Paltrow sells Brentwood home
Paltrow has been open about the emotional impact of her children moving out. Last March, she admitted to feeling a “deep sense of impending grief” about the change. In October 2024, she shared that she was reconnecting with a part of herself that she hadn’t felt since her 20s, before having kids.
Chris Martin, 47, has also expressed sadness about their children becoming independent. He and Paltrow divorced after nearly 11 years of marriage but continue to co-parent amicably. Martin has since moved on with his partner, Dakota Johnson.
Paltrow now resides in a newly built home in Montecito with her husband Brad Falchuk. She is also a stepmother to Falchuk’s two children, Isabella and Brody, from his previous marriage.
