Heidi Klum is not returning as a judge for the 20th season of “America’s Got Talent.” The supermodel and TV personality served on the panel from 2013 to 2019 and again from 2020 to 2024. While Klum has not revealed a specific reason for her departure, it is speculated that it may be related to her return to “Project Runway.” In January 2025, she announced that she would be rejoining the fashion design competition show, which is moving from Bravo to Freeform. Klum will be working alongside Nina Garcia, Law Roach, and Christian Siriano to usher in a new era of “Project Runway.” Managing commitments to both “Project Runway” on Freeform and “AGT” on NBC simultaneously would likely prove challenging.

A representative for “AGT” expressed gratitude for Klum’s contributions to the show, stating, “Heidi has been an incredible part of ‘AGT,’ bringing her signature charm, expertise, and warmth to the show. We are enormously grateful for her many contributions and the impact she has had while celebrating the world’s greatest talent with us.

We’d love for our paths to cross again.”

Filling the seat once held by Klum is Mel B, a member of the iconic Spice Girls. Mel B is no stranger to “AGT,” having served as a judge from Seasons 8 through 13. She has also built a career as a reality TV judge, appearing on shows like “The X Factor Australia,” “The X Factor UK,” “Queen of the Universe,” “The Voice Kids: Australia,” and “The Masked Singer: Australia.”

Mel B shared that her return to “AGT” came at a perfect time in her life.

During her previous stint as a judge on the show, she was dealing with personal challenges, including an emotionally abusive marriage and the death of her father. Despite these hardships, she found solace in her role on “AGT.” Mel B also appeared on Season 1 of “AGT: The Champions” and filled in for Sofia Vergara on “AGT: Fantasy League.” When the opportunity arose to return to the main series, she eagerly accepted. Season 20 of “America’s Got Talent” airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
