Shinedown, the multi-platinum, chart-topping rock band, has released two new singles, “Three Six Five” and “Dance, Kid, Dance.” The songs were released on January 24 via Atlantic Records. The band also announced their upcoming U.S. tour, also titled “Dance, Kid, Dance.” Tickets for the tour went on sale the same day as the singles were released. Brent Smith, the frontman of Shinedown, spoke about the new songs and tour.
“We needed to approach everything differently this time… The last two albums were both conceptual, so it was important for us to really ask ourselves creatively where do we want to go. The answer was everywhere. We just started writing and let the new songs guide us.
Instead of saying ‘why?’ we started saying ‘why not?'” Smith said. He added, “When we were thinking about touring, we had certain artists in mind. Instead of assuming they wouldn’t want to join us, we just asked them — and they said yes.
It’s quite humbling, and we are extremely excited for this new chapter. SO LET’S GO!!!!”
The two new singles show off the band’s diverse talents. “Dance, Kid, Dance” has heavy guitars and a fast tempo.
It blends social commentary with an invitation to let loose and dance. The song is a reminder of why Shinedown holds the record for the most No. 1 songs at Active Rock Radio.
“Three Six Five” addresses themes of loss and the importance of treasuring time with loved ones.
Upcoming Dance, Kid, Dance tour
The song underlines the idea that life is short and encourages listeners to make the most of each day.
Both singles were co-written with Dave Bassett and produced at Big Animal Studio in Charleston, South Carolina. The “Dance, Kid, Dance” tour starts on April 25 in Des Moines, Iowa. It is one of the band’s largest U.S. tours ever.
The 35-date run will include stops at famous venues such as New York’s Madison Square Garden, Boston’s TD Garden, and Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Morgan Wade will perform at all shows, joining Shinedown on select dates. For this tour, Shinedown has partnered with Musicians On Call.
They will donate $1 for every ticket sold. Musicians On Call is a charity that brings the healing power of music to patients, families, and caregivers in healthcare environments. Recently, Shinedown was nominated for several iHeartRadio Music Awards.
These include “Rock Song of the Year” for “A Symptom of Being Human” and “Rock Artist of the Year.” These nominations bring the band to a total of 13 iHeartRadio Music Awards. This cements their status as a powerhouse in modern rock. The tour and new music mark a new era for Shinedown.
They also celebrate the success of “A Symptom of Being Human” from their seventh studio album “Planet Zero.” This hit song has over 100 million streams. It has crossed over to Alternative and Top 40 radio, resonating globally with its message about the importance of human connections.
