Monica “Mo” Lunsford has joined “The Rod Ryan Show” on iHeartMedia’s modern rock station “94-5 The Buzz” KTBZ Houston as co-host. Lunsford was most recently a part of “The Morning Bullpen with George Mo and Erik” on Audacy’s country outlet, “The Bull 100.3” KILT, exiting in December. “We are thrilled to have Monica ‘Mo’ start with us on the Rod Ryan Show on 94-5 The Buzz today,” said Elliot Wood, KTBZ Program Director and iHeartMedia National Programming Group Director of Programming & Branding.

“Mo has been a well-known Houston talent for 10 years while she co-hosted across the street with George Lindsey on The Bull.

Mo joins the Rod Ryan Show

We recognized Mo’s talent early on and how she transcends formats, as well as the incredible market equity she has.”

Lunsford, who previously held roles at WRWM Indianapolis and KUPL Portland, succeeds Tessa Barrera, who left to focus on her role on KPRC-TV’s afternoon lifestyle show “Houston Life,” where she’s co-hosted since 2023.

Wood expressed excitement about the positive reception to Lunsford’s first day, noting the enthusiastic feedback and engagement received from both Buzz listeners and Rod Ryan fans. “The feedback from our social media on this morning – her first day on-air with us – was all positive from both our Buzz listeners and Mo’s fans that found her here on 94-5 The Buzz,” Wood said. Monica “Mo” Lunsford’s integration into “The Rod Ryan Show” reflects iHeartMedia’s ongoing commitment to bringing top-tier talent to their stations, further solidifying the show’s place in the Houston market.
