Bollywood actress Tripti Dimri has been announced as the female lead opposite Prabhas in the upcoming action thriller “Spirit.” The film will be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Dimri replaces Deepika Padukone, who was initially attached to the project but exited due to undisclosed reasons. Vanga believes Dimri is the perfect fit for the role, given her willingness to meet the creative and professional expectations set by the team.
“Spirit” will be released in nine languages, underscoring its global ambitions. The film will be produced by Pranay Reddy Vanga, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the banners of Bhadrakali Pictures Productions and T-Series Films. Prabhas will portray a powerful and intense police officer in the film.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s involvement adds to the anticipation surrounding the project, as he is known for crafting dynamic and intense protagonists.
Dimri joins cast of Spirit

Reports suggest that Deepika Padukone was dropped from the project due to unprofessional demands, including refusing to shoot for more than six hours a day and seeking extra payment for any shooting days beyond the 100-day schedule. “Spirit” marks the first on-screen collaboration between Prabhas and Triptii Dimri and is Dimri’s second project with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, producer Bhushan Kumar, and Pranay Reddy Vanga, following the success of “Animal.” The film is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to start shooting in 2025. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma praised Vanga’s decision to cast Dimri, predicting her future success in the industry.
