William Levy, a Cuban-American actor known for his roles in telenovelas and as a finalist on “Dancing With the Stars,” was arrested Monday night at a restaurant in Weston, Florida. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office booked Levy on charges of disorderly intoxication in a public place and trespassing. According to 911 calls, Levy and his friend were drunk and causing a disturbance at Baires Grill.

The caller said, “They are drinking too much and they don’t want to leave, they don’t want to pay the check so… we try to give them a discount… they are getting into an argument with another customer and they are getting more aggressive.”

Deputies arrived at the scene to find Levy intoxicated and refusing to leave the restaurant. He was arrested and spent the night in jail before being released on a $500 bond Tuesday evening.

Speaking to reporters after his release, Levy explained, “I was having a drink with one of my friends from the team, the baseball team, and they started arguing with another guy and I got in front of him to try to deescalate the situation and I’m dealing with that.”

This is not Levy’s first encounter with law enforcement. In 2024, police responded to domestic disturbances at the South Florida home he shared with his long-term partner, Elizabeth Gutierrez, four times within a year. However, no allegations of violence were reported, and no charges were filed.

Levy, who moved to Miami from Cuba at the age of 14, rose to fame through his roles in hit telenovelas and Spanish films. He also appeared in Hollywood productions such as “The Single Moms Club” and “Resident Evil.”
