Jason Isaacs reveals drama on The White Lotus

Jason Isaacs has revealed that friendships were both made and lost during the filming of the third season of “The White Lotus.” The British actor, known for his role in “Harry Potter,” stars as wealthy financier Timothy Ratliff in the acclaimed series. Isaacs described the filming experience as “a cross between summer camp and ‘Lord of the Flies’ but in a gilded cage.” The series was shot over seven months in Thailand, with the cast and crew staying at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Koh Samui, which also serves as the hotel’s on-screen location. Despite the picturesque settings, Isaacs emphasized that it “wasn’t a holiday.” “Some people got very close, and friendships were made and lost,” he said.

“All the things you would imagine with a group of people unanchored from their home lives on the other side of the world, in the intense pressure cooker of the working environment with eye-melting heat, insects, and late nights.”

Isaacs hinted at behind-the-scenes drama but chose to remain discreet about specific details.

“I became very close to some people and less close to others, but we all had that experience together and there’s a certain level of discretion required,” he noted. Isaacs’ co-star, Aimee Lou Wood, who plays the spiritual hotel guest Chelsea, also shared her perspective on the unique filming environment.

The ocean, the landscape, it was majestic.”
