The actress revealed that she decided to return to the big screen to work with Flanagan, whose 2021 Netflix limited series “Midnight Mass” she described as “one of my favorite things I’ve ever seen.”
Sara’s last significant film role was in 2011 when she played Princess Langwidere in “Dorothy and the Witches of Oz.” Since then, she has been living a quiet life in the English countryside with her husband Brian Henson, son of “Muppets” creator Jim Henson.
At the premiere, Sara admitted that the excitement surrounding her return felt “a little daunting, but I’m very grateful! It’s unexpected.” When asked if she planned to act more in the future, she responded, “Honestly, it really was all about Mike. If Mike needs me, I’ll be there.”
“The Life of Chuck” premieres in limited theaters on Friday and will be released nationwide on June 13. Fans of both Mia Sara and Stephen King are eagerly anticipating this new adaptation, which promises to showcase the actress’s talent in a compelling and genre-bending story.
