Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, has recently welcomed his 14th child. Musk’s large family is spread across several relationships with four different women. Justine Wilson, a fantasy author, was Musk’s first wife.
They met at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. Despite a rocky start, they married in January 2000. In 2002, they welcomed their first child, Nevada Alexander, who tragically died from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at just 10 weeks old.
The couple went on to have five more children: twins Vivian and Griffin in 2004, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damien in 2006. The marriage ended in divorce in 2008. Musk began dating Canadian singer Grimes in 2018.
They welcomed their first child, X Æ A-12, later modified to X Æ A-Xii, in 2020. In 2021, Grimes and Musk welcomed their second child, a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl, via surrogate.
Musk’s expanding family
Six months later, Grimes gave birth to their second son, Techno Mechanicus. Shivon Zilis, a top executive at Neuralink, and Musk welcomed twins, Strider and Azure, in November 2021. In June 2024, it was reported that Shivon had given birth to their third child.
On February 28, 2025, Shivon announced the birth of their fourth child and revealed the name of their previously unannounced third child, Seldon Lycurgus. Zilis shared the news on social media, writing, “Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold.
Love him so much.”
In a surprise announcement on Valentine’s Day 2025, social media influencer Ashley St. Clair claimed to have given birth to Musk’s child five months prior. A week later, Ashley filed a petition for sole custody of the child.
Elon Musk has not yet publicly addressed the paternity claim. As Elon Musk’s family continues to grow, each of these women remains an integral part of his life and the upbringing of his many children.
