Chappelle Controversy

Dave Chappelle hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the fourth time on January 19, 2025. In his monologue, he took aim at several hot-button topics, including the Los Angeles wildfires and recent comments by Donald Trump. However, it was his jabs at hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs that stole the spotlight.

Chappelle referred to Diddy’s alleged involvement in sex trafficking and notorious “freak-off” parties. “I’ve been in a lot of trouble in my day but this guy Puffy, oh buddy, this guy is in an enormous amount of trouble; I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this,” Chappelle said while sitting on a stool and smoking a cigarette. He joked about his exclusion from these parties, saying, “They’d be like, ‘Well, how were all these people you know at the freak-off and you were the only one who wasn’t?’ And I thought about it for a minute and I said, ‘Oh my God — I’m ugly.'”

Chappelle also commented on the raids conducted in Miami and Los Angeles last March, where agents reportedly seized more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant as evidence.

“I’m 51 and I don’t think I’ve ever finished a bottle of baby oil in my life,” he remarked, suggesting Diddy’s extreme commitment to such parties. “Clearly, Puff is committed to the lifestyle.

A thousand bottles? Thank God they caught him before those fires — can you imagine the mushroom cloud over his house?”

The episode also featured musical guest GloRilla, who made her “SNL” debut with performances from her 2024 mixtape and solo debut. “SNL” is currently in its 50th season and is set to return on January 25 with Timothée Chalamet both hosting and performing as the musical guest.
