Chrissy Metz, known for her role in the hit series “This Is Us,” has made a significant life change by leaving Los Angeles after 21 years and moving to Nashville, Tennessee. The 44-year-old actress cited a better quality of life as the main reason for her relocation. “I moved to Nashville,” Metz said in a recent interview.

“My family is in Florida, where I’m from, and during the pandemic, I could drive to them from here. It’s just a better quality of life here. Everything is 15 minutes away, and it’s just so much less stress.”

Metz also praised the vibrant culture of Nashville, saying, “There’s a lot going on.

There’s obviously great music, great food. I’m used to sort of that hospitality—it feels more communal here. In L.A. it was always like, ‘Oh, you have an audition?

What’s it for?’ It was all very dog-eat-dog.”

Since the conclusion of “This Is Us” in 2022, Metz has shifted her focus to her music career and the upcoming release of her new children’s book, “When I Talk to God, I Talk About Feelings.” The book aims to help children express their emotions and build confidence.

“I think we’re coming into this age of mental health awareness and just talking about our feelings in real ways,” Metz noted.

“And so I wondered, could we preemptively strike and get the kids to name their feelings and then express their feelings and have the confidence to even do that?”

Metz’s decision to leave Hollywood is not unique among celebrities. Renée Zellweger, known for her roles in “Jerry Maguire” and “Cold Mountain,” also took a hiatus from acting in 2010 to focus on personal growth and introspection. “I was sick of the sound of my own voice,” Zellweger explained in a recent interview with British Vogue.

“When I was working, I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, listen to you. Are you sad again, Renée? Oh, is this your mad voice?’ It was a regurgitation of the same emotional experiences.”

During her break, Zellweger pursued various interests, including writing music, studying international law, building a house, rescuing dogs, and spending time with family.

“I got healthy,” she said, reflecting positively on her time away from Hollywood. Chrissy Metz’s move to Nashville and her renewed focus on music and writing highlights a growing trend among celebrities seeking solace and fulfillment beyond the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. As more stars prioritize their personal well-being and explore new creative outlets, it remains to be seen how this shift will impact the entertainment industry in the years to come.
