Metallica will perform at the after-race concerts of the 2025 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Yas Island near Abu Dhabi on December 6. Tickets to the concert are exclusive to Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ticket holders, who can purchase them through the Abu Dhabi GP website. Current ticket holders can also secure Golden Circle upgrades.
This will be Metallica’s third performance in Abu Dhabi, having made their debut on Yas Island in 2011 and returning two years later. David Powell, chief strategy and business development officer at the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix organizers, stated, “Metallica deliver life-changing shows. They are the perfect addition to the 2025 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and Yasalam offering.
Saturday will be a day not to miss for F1 and rock fans alike.”
The band played the first concert of 2025 on April 19 at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, supported by Suicidal Tendencies. Since opening in April 2023 in Amsterdam, the tour has drawn around three million fans, impressing audiences and critics worldwide. The tour concluded its 2024 run with four nights at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros, where they played to more than 250,000 fans over two weekends.
Metallica to rock Yas Island
Metallica’s world tour in 2025 continues the No Repeat Weekend tradition, featuring entirely different setlists and support lineups for each of the two-night stands. The tour includes the band’s first Nashville shows in five years on May 1 and 3 at Nissan Stadium and their return to Tampa after 15 years on June 6 and 8 at Raymond James Stadium.
Additionally, Metallica has confirmed a highly-anticipated Bay Area hometown performance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on June 20 and 22. The 2025 tour also features several single shows, including an appearance at the Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia, home of the Virginia Tech Hokies on May 7. In addition to playing various football stadiums across the nation, the tour includes a festival headline at Sonic Temple at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, on May 9 and 11.
Supporting Metallica on their 2025 North American run will be Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies, and Ice Nine Kills. Produced by Live Nation, the tour is presented by a new sponsor, which offers special rewards and financing to participating restaurants. A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will go to local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands foundation.
Established in 2017, the foundation has raised over $15 million, providing funds to career and technical education programs, combating food insecurity, and supporting disaster relief efforts.
