Tom Morello, the guitarist of Rage Against the Machine, recently spoke out about former President Donald Trump’s ongoing feud with Bruce Springsteen. Morello believes that Trump is angry at Springsteen because “Bruce draws a bigger audience.”

The conflict between Trump and Springsteen escalated when Springsteen criticized the Trump administration during a concert in the UK. He called it “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.” Trump fired back, suggesting that Springsteen should “KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country.”

Springsteen responded by releasing an anti-Trump EP, further fueling the tensions.

Morello addressed the controversy during his performance at the Boston Calling festival on May 25th.

He dedicated a cover of Springsteen’s “The Ghost of Tom Joad” to the issue.

Morello stated, “Bruce is going after Trump because Bruce, his whole life, he’s been about truth, justice, democracy, equality. And Trump is mad at him because Bruce draws a bigger audience. Fuck that guy!”

Morello, who graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Political Science, also praised the institution for standing up against Trump’s threats to withhold federal funds from the Ivy League school.

During his set at Boston Calling, Morello performed several Rage Against the Machine songs and invited Public Enemy’s Chuck D on stage for the song “Prophets of Rage.”

Fans will have the opportunity to see Tom Morello when he tours Canada this summer.
