Barbara Walters, a trailblazing journalist, is the subject of a new documentary titled “Tell Me Everything.” The film, directed by Jackie Jesko, premiered on June 12 and will be available for streaming on Hulu starting June 23. The documentary highlights Walters’ remarkable career, featuring interviews with presidents and celebrities. It showcases how she overcame sexism to achieve numerous firsts in the industry.

Walters became the first female anchor of “Today” in 1974 and later, in 1976, the first female anchor of a network evening news program on ABC with an annual salary of $1 million. Walters’ personal life is also explored in the film. She was married four times to three different men and admits she wasn’t “very good at marriage.” The joy in her personal life came from her daughter, Jacqueline Dena Guber, whom she adopted after suffering three miscarriages.

The documentary doesn’t shy away from Walters’ professional rivalries, particularly with Diane Sawyer. Connie Chung notes that upon joining ABC News in 1997, she felt caught in the intense competition between Walters and Sawyer. “Tell Me Everything” also reviews some of Walters’ most controversial interview questions.

She was known for her bluntness, asking Barbra Streisand why she didn’t have a nose job and questioning Lady Gaga’s sexual orientation.

Barbara Walters’ trailblazing career

Friends and colleagues open up about Walters’ attraction to powerful men and her numerous high-profile relationships.

Cindy Adams, a longtime friend and writer, comments, “Barbara had her fill of romance… She thought a lot of guys were very sexy. She was interested in the possibility of sex.

She liked it. She liked men.”

Walters’ romantic life was as dynamic as her career. She was married three times and divorced four times.

Despite her hectic schedule, Walters did maintain romances with notable figures such as Virginia Senator John Warner and former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan. “Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything,” produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Documentaries for ABC News Studios, will provide an all-encompassing look at the life and loves of one of the most iconic figures in journalism. Walters’ extraordinary career and personal life have been documented in the newly released documentary, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Viewers praised the film for its detailed account of Walters’ professional journey, her unwavering commitment to her work, and her impact on breaking down barriers for women in journalism.
