Interior designers Alexis Warren, Melissa Read, Nadia Watts, Sarah Latham, Emma Mason, and Allison Garrison shared their favorite colors to use in every project. Warren loves using shades of yellow. “Yellows layer and play nicely with a multitude of colors and add brightness to a space that can’t be achieved by using anything else,” she says.
Read often selects warm-toned neutrals like soft taupes, greiges, and off-whites. “These shades are timeless, they bring warmth to a space, and they work with an enormous variety of fabrics and finishes,” she shares. Watts picks blue as her go-to color.
“When I think of calm, I picture being by the lake or at the beach, breathing in that fresh air.

Blue really captures that vibe for me,” she says.
Latham always finds a way to use white or ivory. “We frequently opt for versatile white for interiors, and the warm undertones create an inherently inviting allure,” she says. Mason and Garrison both love incorporating green.
“I love that it brings the outdoors in and almost reads like a neutral. It has a lot of warmth and versatility as well,” Mason says. Garrison agrees, adding, “Green is the color of nature and has a soothing and grounding effect which we are generally trying to achieve in our projects.”
These designers prove that whether you prefer neutrals or bolder hues, thoughtfully chosen colors can create timeless and inviting spaces.
From uplifting yellow to versatile green, their favorite shades offer inspiration for any decorating project.
