Angelina Jolie attended the Women in Training Inc.’s Annual Mother-Daughter Brunch in Montgomery, Alabama, over the weekend to support her daughter Zahara Jolie. The 20-year-old Spelman College sophomore delivered a keynote speech about period poverty, which refers to women and girls who have insufficient access to menstrual products, education, and sanitation facilities. Zahara discussed this pressing issue, which is at the center of Women in Training, Inc.’s activism.
The 49-year-old actress wore a floor-length silk skirt paired with a button-up shirt, styled with straight blond tresses and simple makeup. Zahara opted for a knee-length dress with pointy white heels and minimal makeup. In November 2023, Zahara became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated, a sorority focused on service.
WIT’s president and CEO Adeyela Bennett expressed her excitement about the appearance of Angelina and Zahara before the event.
Mother-daughter brunch supporting period poverty
“We are truly honored that Zahara Jolie-Pitt will speak at the Fourth Annual WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch about her passion to end period poverty, which is the mission of Women in Training,” Bennett said.
“We are also excited that her mother, the internationally renowned movie star Angelina Jolie, will join us to support her daughter and our goal of ensuring that every girl and young woman has the products she needs to live her life to the fullest extent.”
Angelina has brought Zahara to multiple high-profile events, including the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. Despite the spotlight, Angelina has noted that most of her children prefer to stay away from public attention. Zahara dropped Brad Pitt’s last name during her parents’ divorce proceedings.
Angelina filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, two years after their marriage. The reason for their split became public in 2022 when Angelina alleged that Pitt had attacked her and their children during a flight. Pitt has denied the allegations.
The former couple finally settled their divorce in December 2024, eight years after proceedings began.
